Director & Artistic staff RESUME

BACKGROUND

"My eye for directing began at a young age, and neighborhood kids who stopped by to use our swimming pool were quickly handed scripts and told to learn their lines.  I was a dramaturgical drill sergeant in arm floaties!" -Robert Glen Decker

A BIT OF HISTORY: Robert grew up in the beautiful mountains of Altoona, Pennsylvania, historical home to dozens of turn of the century theatres where legendary performers such as Sarah Bernhardt, Lillian Russell, Richard Mansfield, Al Jolson, Ed Wynn, Helen Hayes, and the Barrymore's trod the boards during their tours along the Pennsylvania railroad between New York and Chicago.  Actor George Burns, who performed there during the Vaudeville era, titled his published memoir "They Still Love Me in Altoona."  Rich in theatre history from the 1860's to today and home to one of the first two summer theatres ever in the United States, Robert feels proud of his hometown's theatre heritage and fortunate to have grown up performing on one of Altoona's remaining historical stages, the Mishler Theatre. mishlertheatre.org
